Manufacturing Engineer – Sheet Metal


SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will create complex and highly technical quotes and process sheet metal parts and assemblies.

REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

WORK AUTHORIZATION: US Person

LOCATION: 1400 Emerson Street, Rochester, NY 14606

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop lean manufacturing processes, techniques, and procedures while aligning PEKO capabilities with customer requirements.
  • Quote for sheet metal with Lasers, Turrets, Press Brakes, welding, and painting (wet & powder), CAD, GD&T interpretation, and tooling knowledge.
  • Use a hands-on approach inclusive of interaction and collaboration with sheet metal, quality, and technical staff and the ability to communicate project progress to management.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to meet project objectives.
  • Actively promote and participate in a cross-functional teamwork environment.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by the Manager.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with blueprint reading and GD&T required.
  • Background in maintenance and process engineering.
  • Basic understanding/knowledge of sheet metal as it relates to manufacturing parts and designing tools.
