Challenge
A major defense OEM engaged PEKO to support a highly visible, multiyear program centered around the mechanical infrastructure of an advanced radar system. The core deliverable—a ruggedized 8’x8′ precision assembly—serves as a mission-critical platform in both domestic and international defense markets. Solution
PEKO manufactured nearly all parts in-house using large-format CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication processes. A dedicated assembly cell was developed and managed internally to ensure high throughput and consistent quality. The team utilized riveted fastener techniques and applied wet-paint coatings in controlled environments to meet stringent military specifications. PEKO collaborated closely with the OEM to develop customized control plans, visual work instructions, and verification protocols. Source inspections were conducted at PEKO’s facility to streamline delivery and maintain compliance. PEKO also managed all outsourced operations as part of a comprehensive turnkey assembly model.
